Too many discussions of cybersecurity offer generic best practices without addressing resource constraints. Most founders don’t have unlimited dollars and minutes in the day to install the cybersecurity policies, systems, applications, and personnel necessary to compete for every contract, qualify for every partnership opportunity, or secure additional funding.
Few people would argue that a Chief Information Security Officer needs to be among the “Day One” hires to launch your startup.
Join us on January 15th at 665 Johnnie Dodds in Mount Pleasant to discuss practical guidance on making smart security investments at the right time. We won’t be diving into the technical weeds, and we won’t be pitching solutions—we’ll be helping you make sense of the trigger events and decision points for maturing your cyber framework.
This event is free and sponsored by Code/+/Trust and The South Carolina Research Authority
Panelists include: Brian Shea - Director of the South Carolina Cybersecurity Center Ross Clarke - CEO & Co-Founder of CAMA Security Lou Vega - Senior Security Engineer @ VDA Labs Rick Siebenaler - CEO of The Maritime Cybersecurity Institute Chris Petrella - SBIR/STTR Force Multiplier @ SC Small Business Dev. Join us for the "Community Impact Workshop: Effective Charity 101," a half-day workshop dedicated to equipping you with the knowledge necessary to make a meaningful impact in our community.
A new kind of "happy hour." This is a stress relief and team-building activity that's also a great opportunity to come out and meet like-minded Charleston professionals. Join artist and educator Katherine Gagnon in a program specifically designed for non-artists. Gagnon establishes a relaxing and judge free environment as she guides participants through this guided and meditative art making experience. Listening to upbeat music, we work with nontoxic watercolor paints and oil pastels to create an abstract "zinnia" flower. Enter a state of "flow."
Why bother? As we know from Dr. Girija Kaimal's Drexel University study "...for the majority of people... making art for as little as forty-five minutes reduces the stress hormone cortisol, no matter your skill level or experience." (Magsamen & Ross, Your Brain on Art, 2023 p.28) We will focus on process over product: the act of making the art itself and not being worried about what the end result will look like. Embracing mindfulness, we will attempt to be fully present in the here and now. Find a sense of calm through imperfection and let go through Zinnia Wellness Painting.
Serving corporate teams, healthcare providers and caregivers, the workshop is perfect for employee on-sites, corporate retreats and leadership development training. Sample for yourself what Zinnia Wellness Painting is all about in this unique opportunity to take this hour and a half painting workshop at a special rate through the Charleston Learning Center.
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN
WHO IS THIS FOR?
Are you a business owner or managing a team? When you have so many responsibilities, at the end of the day who shows up for you? Take ownership of your own self care and wellbeing by trying out my unique workshop. Zinnia Wellness Painting was founded on the principle that sustainable self-care helps us be able to show up for those who rely on us. Give yourself the gift of this stress relieving workshop, so that you can continue showing up for those who rely on you. This workshop provides a chance to connect with the Charleston women in leadership community, great for those who wear multiple hats or are seeking a chance to engage with other professionals, particularly if you are running a business alone or work remotely.
