Every week, 1 Million Cups gives entrepreneurs a platform to present their business to a supportive community for ideas and connections to grow it. It's not a pitch; it's a chance to learn and collaborate.
Chucktown Startups has partnered with Builders + Backers to give entrepreneurs in our community a clear, trusted pathway to bring their entrepreneurial ideas to life and build their business – from first spark to launched company and beyond. It's powered by AI tools and expert support that meets builders wherever they are in their journey - no matter the idea.
The Builders Studio team will lead the community through an in-depth demonstration of the platform and answer questions from the audience.
REGISTRATION
Not all money is created equal and asking the wrong investor at the wrong time can cost you more than a "no."
Whether you're a founder preparing for your first raise or a seasoned business owner exploring growth capital, understanding the private capital landscape is one of the most consequential skills you can develop. Yet most entrepreneurs learn it the hard way: pitching venture capitalists when they need angel investors, taking on debt when equity makes more sense, or signing term sheets they don't fully understand.
In this 90-minute workshop, Elliott T. Friedman will walk you through the full spectrum of private funding, from pre-seed to growth stage, and break down the real differences between the capital instruments founders encounter along the way: straight equity, debt financing, convertible notes, SAFEs, warrants, and more.
Walk in with questions. Walk out with a framework.
What You'll Learn:
This Workshop is For You if:
Elliott T. Friedman is a 2x exited co-founder, private equity tech advisor and professional services firm advisor, and author of The Holistic Edge: A Private Capital Guide for Founders and Their Professional Advisors.
Free for members of Lowcountry Local First. $15 for Non-members.

OVERVIEW
The 4Rs Strategy Intensive (Solopreneur Edition) is a one-day, hands-on planning experience designed for independent business owners who want to stop reacting and start running their business with intention.
Using the Reflect–Reframe–Rally–Reinforce framework, you’ll step back to understand what’s really happening in your business, decide what matters most, and turn those decisions into a focused, executable plan that fits your real constraints.
This session is delivered live online and designed to be practical, grounded, and immediately applicable. You’ll leave the day with clarity, priorities, and a clear path forward, not just ideas.
The solopreneur edition is offered as a public, cohort-based experience, combining individual work with shared learning and perspective from other solopreneurs navigating similar challenges.
SOUND FAMILIAR?
- Too many competing priorities and no clear way to choose
- Wearing multiple hats with little time to step back and think
- Constantly busy, but revenue and momentum don’t reflect the effort
- Marketing that’s inconsistent or always getting pushed aside
- Uncertainty about where the next client or opportunity will come from
- A growing sense of burnout, paired with the feeling that everything still depends on you
If any of this resonates, you don’t need to work harder, you need more clarity and focus!
Visit the registration for additional details about what to expect, what you leave with, and more!
This one-day strategic intensive retreat is designed to pull solo founders, entrepreneurs and small team leaders out of the daily "whirlwind" and into a space of total clarity, confidence, and strategic direction needed to fuel sustainable growth.
The experience includes a full day of workshops, locally sourced meals, and a celebratory happy hour in a relaxed, unconventional venue.
Hustle & Flow: COLLISION is a high-energy happy hour at The Harbor Entrepreneur Center—built for founders, builders, operators, creatives, and community partners who want to be in the room where momentum happens.
This isn’t a panel. It’s not a pitch night.
It’s the kind of night where conversations turn into intros, intros turn into opportunities, and ideas get sharper just by being around the right people.
Come for a drink. Leave with new connections, fresh perspective, and at least one “we should definitely talk next week.”

Event Description
Sound of mind is Quest’s flagship fundraiser and music event meant to share with the community our mental health nonprofit, student testimonies, and the inspiration we get when we gather to lift others up.
Our Intention
To open people’s minds and hearts through the power of music, storytelling, and community.
Event Theme: Love & Loss
This year’s theme, Love & Loss, centers on a simple truth: grief is unexpressed love asking to be felt. In a fast moving world that often avoids pain, we hope Sound of Mind creates space to slow down, reflect, and feel, together. As Caiola, one of our 2025 performers, writes: "is it only real when shared.”
Through music and shared experience, we honor what has been lost while reminding one another that connection and support can carry us forward. Every donation helps ensure these valuable moments of connection and vital mental health resources can be provided to college students FREE through Quest on Campus.
Quest Mission Statement
Quest's purpose is to strengthen the mental fitness of students and young adults through community, peer support, and recreational activities.

In a digital-first world, it’s hard to connect. Built for More is an active, small-group experience for dads who want a lot for themselves and, in turn, their families. This isn’t about being told how to parent. We’re not bringing in parenting experts or handing out step-by-step advice. There are plenty of books for that. This is about breaking up the routine to be around other dads who care and are setting their bars high. Movement, time outside, new friends, good food, and straight talk.

Demo Day provides each Drive cohort company the chance to showcase its breakthrough science before a curated audience of investors and industry leaders. After completing the Drive Accelerator, a hands-on program that equips founders with business fundamentals, mentorship and expert guidance, participants take the stage to pitch their innovative science and gain the visibility, traction and potential funding needed to propel their startups forward.
Fueled by a collaboration between SCbio and MassBio, Demo Day is designed to strengthen the life sciences ecosystem by supporting early-stage innovators and connecting them with the resources needed to grow and scale their revolutionary science.
Seats for Demo Day are limited, with priority given to accredited investors; attendance is subject to approval.
